Bio....

Devon Bijansky has served as deputy general counsel to the Texas Real Estate Commission since March 2008 and as general counsel to the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (an independent subdivision of TREC) since November 2009. Prior to her time in the general counsel’s office, she spent three years in TREC’s enforcement division, where she handled complaint cases against inspectors, salespeople, and brokers and also served as the enforcement liaison to the Inspector Committee. Devon has spoken to groups of licensees and real estate educators across the state and served as the chair of the home inspection task force of the Association of Real Estate Regulatory Law Officials (ARELLO).

Prior to coming to TREC, Devon worked in the appeals department of the Texas Workforce Commission. The transition to TREC was a natural one for Devon, as she has had a lifelong love of real estate, beginning when she was a child attending open houses with her mother and exploring neighborhood construction sites.

Devon received her bachelor’s degree in government from Sweet Briar College and her juris doctor from the University of Texas School of Law.
