Last week I did an inspection on a house that was built in 1993 and has a Challenger breaker panel in it. When my client went to get insurance , the insurance company said that they can not give her insurance with this panel in it. I called them because I could not understand why because I have put these panels on 4-point reports before with no issues. They told me that it is because in 1979 Federal Pacific purchased Challenger and that it is possible that they used pats from their FP boxes and breakers on the Challenger brand… Any info on this will be great.
