Just curious, what does an ad like that cost?

Could make it into a consumer ad.

I read a stat, today, that said that 7 out of every 10 houses being sold today are owned by banks. If this is close to being accurate...we need to be marketing directly to consumers...not agents.

Nice ad, though.

Guess Nick forgot to tell everyone that there would be "featured" inspectors in the ad. So, not only has he lowered the non-cmi inspectors, but also placed "preferred" inspectors in the ad, lowering the cmi inspectors, all in one shot!

And, if $1K was the price for those inspectors, then it only cost Nick $1K! And, if you add the cost of the CMI designation, looks like the non-profit made a profit!

I hope it was worth it!

Gee Eric it seems to me you are very unhappy with NICK NACHI and the CMI , I got youe messge and wonder if you feel the constant attacks on our association will make changes .
Most of us see what NACHI is and who has the control and except it for what it is .
I do feel NACHI has done more for our industry then all other asociations compined .
I see you do not have a NACHI emblem posted on your web site but you do have a
IHINA listed I think the NACHI rules are if you have another association on your web site NACHI should be their also.
Complaing about CMIs when you are not one I wonder why .
Most CMIs are pleased with what we have and how it has helped us .
All the best Roy ,

Oh yes I could not get to your web site from the place on your post had to go elswhere to get to it .
This could have been just a temp glich

I am just pointing things out to others, mostly newer members. Just food for thought.

I would disagree with you on that point. In my opinion, nachi, at least in Florida, has lowered the bar under the guise and excuse that "It is the licensing law we are just helping members", when in fact, they are using the members as an income source. I know, "not for profit".

I see you do not have a NACHI emblem posted on your web site but you do have a

Nachi is mentioned on the home page as well as the insurance inspection page.

I am getting my application notarized today and it will be in the mail today as well. Curiosity satisfied?

I will see exactly how it helps me.

All the best Roy.

As always, the best to you!

It must be a glitch because I went to it right away.

Eric - Not for profit does not mean, they cannot have an income source.

I am in the Advertisement. Is it worth the money? I don't know. I do I am pretty happy people decided not to do it, leaves bigger space for me.

I have no problem with anyone making money, that is capitalism. I will spend $1,000 to make $1001 all day long.

How much will this bring me? Don't know, but is it used for marketing or is it used branding? I have spent $1000 on much dumber ideas and I looked at it like a leap of faith. Look at the ad, thats well worth it in my book. The thing that sucks, is that I am assuming the next one will be more full.

I will keep you guys informed, but as of right now I think the ad looks great!

The ad looks fine, that wasn't the point.

Each company paid $1,000= $4,000.00
Four cmis =$1,500.00
$5,500.00-$5,000.00=$500.00 profit.
And I am sure, that favors were called to create the ad, or it was done for free. I could have done it in about a half an hour.

Working for a dollar a day, or less, isn't my idea of a successful business model. I know you were exaggerating and wish you well with the ad.

I personally paid for the ad design. It is more of a marketing ad as opposed to a sales ad. Agents that have used you in the past will recognize you in the ad and that helps reinforce their choice of inspector. The ad also promotes all CMIs as does the link in the ad, as does the FAR website which will be running the ad as well.

I also personally paid for the magazine ad space and website placement.

Ron Huffman donated his time in coordinating everything.

Total costs of the project were more than $5K.

The MICB collected $4K from the featured CMIs.
