It's all about what google feels is the most relevant page. The more people that link to your home page the more powerful that home page becomes. You could technically have people link to other pages on your site and they would start to show up as well. But since you'r fighting sites that have been around for years it's best to concentrate your efforts. Google also changes their algorithms constantly and does seem to give more credence to the home page, especially with a site that doesn't have that many pages total. My belief is they feel the user can find their way to the page needed.

Dominic, Why is my home page the first page to open from any search?

Example: If I search "move in certified clarksville" my site gets a hit. When you click on it you go to my main page.

In the past I had all kinds of pages come up according to the search.

Can you briefly explain?
