What is a Wiki?

You've probably used or heard of Wikipedia - the free online encyclopedia. The concept is simple: all information on the site is added by you, the community of readers. It's a collaborative project. Anyone can edit any page and correct or add data, and we encourage you to contribute in your areas of expertise.

It's easy - just click the "edit" button on the top of any page in the Wiki and add your content. Remember that once you've contributed, anyone can add to or edit your words.

How do I start a new page?

There are two quick ways to add a new Wiki page:

Be sure to write clearly and concisely, and check for spelling errors. If your page fits into a category, enter it in the box below the text editing box.

How do I create a new section?

Simply type your section title on a new line, select it, and click the box on the top of the editing area that says "Normal". You'll see a short list of formatting options. Choose "Heading". The Wiki will automatically create a table of contents for the sections if there are more than three.

How do I upload images?

In your editing area, you'll see an image button that looks like this: . Click it and you'll be show options for uploading your image onto the Wiki site. You'll need to resize the images on your computer to be under 500 by 500 pixels, and save it so it's smaller than 80KB in size. If you don't have the software to do this, websites like Shrink Pictures make it easy to do it online.

How do I add links?

Select the text you'd like to link, then click the link button above the editing area. You'll see a list of recent NACHIWiki pages and popular NACHI.org pages. To link to a Wiki entry, use this format: http://www.nachi.org/wiki/Page_Name .

What is the "discussion" page?

You can discuss any entry-related topics, or ask questions, by clicking the "discussion" tab at the top of each page. Sign your questions/comments by typing 3 tildes (~). The Wiki will automatically replace it with your username.
