Home Inspectors: InterNACHI Needs Your Help to Fight HomeSafe

Dear Home Inspector,

InterNACHI is researching and preparing a federal lawsuit against HomeSafe Inspection, Inc., and its president, Kevin Seddon.  The basis for this suit would be HomeSafe's long-standing pattern of misrepresenting the scope of its rights in infrared technology. Many inspectors paid money to HomeSafe or decided not to use IR because of HomeSafe’s threats.

However, because InterNACHI itself never paid money to HomeSafe, there may be an issue with whether InterNACHI has legal standing to sue HomeSafe, or whether InterNACHI suffered any economic damages.

Therefore, we are asking inspectors that paid HomeSafe any fees, or refrained from using IR because of Homesafe's threats, to assign their claims against HomeSafe to InterNACHI in order to help InterNACHI avoid those potential legal problems when it files suit.

Below is an Assignment document (as a downloadable PDF).  Here’s what we’re asking:

  1. If you paid HomeSafe any type of fee, or refrained from using IR because of HomeSafe’s threats, print off the Assignment and sign it in front of a notary public.

  2. Then, make a copy of your signed Assignment to keep for your own records, and snail-mail THE ORIGINAL NOTARIZED DOCUMENT (NOT THE COPY) to InterNACHI’s General Counsel at:

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us protect your rights to use the common technology of thermal imaging and pursue your livelihood without baseless threats or fear of economic reprisal.
