Does anyone have a good reference to pics depicting the proper way to secure attic access ladders to ceiling joists. I have seen many of homes that are not using 16d nails or lag bolts. Instead are using Sheetrock or wood screws.

Many of the pull down ladders, I see, instruct the installer to put a couple of those 16 penny nails through the holes provided in the hinge metal. icon_wink.gif

icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif Like Gerry just pointed out, following the Manufactures Installation Procedures would help. Read directions first and install, not the other way around like most of us do.

thank you for the help.

Gerry, I don't think I have looked close enough to the warning labels on these stairs because I haven't seen this notice yet. Thanks for the pic.
