Joe,

A friend of mine has these windows in his home here in Phoenix, which is rare to find a home with a basement. Nice windows.

If you are working a new project with this type of window make sure the site guy does not back fill too early since these windows make the walls less stable unitl the concrete fully cures. Back filling too early can tweak the walls near these large openings. icon_wink.gif

Thanks Joe…Great info.

Kelly, you are absolutely right. We finished a 150 yard pour on a foundation for a 3400 sq ft house with a basement and panic room with ten foot walls. We did not backfill for over two weeks then we started the flooring system. You could still feel the heat from the concrete cure the next day. You definately have to take concern with structures of this type. JMO.
