Welcome to the Southwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI)! Our chapter is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the Pennsylvania home inspection industry, which includes education, idea sharing, networking, and support of all members and non-members who seek to improve their business and their clients' best interest.

 

Meetings take place the first Thursday of every month and are located at the Perkins restaurant in Altoona, 3300 Pleasant Valley Blvd, in a private room. Meetings begin at 6:00 in the evening and last a couple hours. A guest speaker is invited to present at each meeting, followed by a Q&A session, and there is ample time for idea sharing and casual conversation over dinner. Of course, all attendees are encouraged to have dinner during the meeting, and everyone - whether an InterNACHI member or not - who has interest is welcome to attend, as well as new inspectors, office staff and spouses. While the Chapter is primarily for home inspectors, realtors, contractors, mortgage lenders, insurance agents and other professionals who work in the real estate industry are welcome at Chapter meetings if they wish to attend. Great, free door prizes are given out at meetings, and the general atmosphere is very casual and laid back (no need to dress up). The meeting space accommodates a limited number of people, so it is very important to register for meetings you plan to attend as early as possible.

 

There are currently no dues or fees of any kind for Chapter members or non-members. In addition, InterNACHI members qualify for 1 continuing education credit hour per meeting attended, which is a great benefit considering the annual 24 CE requirement for Certified Inspectors. There are no set rules or policies for meetings, but attendees are obviously expected to act with professionalism and courtesy (no profanity, inappropriate gestures, etc). We also ask that cell phones be kept on vibrate during meetings; but if you must take a call you are free to do so by temporarily leaving the meeting room.

 

Our Chapter founder and President is Steve Hill of Hill Property Inspections LLC based out of Windber, Pennsylvania. The Chapter President organizes and conducts all meetings and events unless another Chapter member has been designated by the President to do so.
