Another use for my IR camera

I found another anomaly today that I had never thought about before. The thermal overloads on an electrical furnace have female spade connectors on the wire that fit over the male side of the overload and those female spades anneal with heat and expand out creating loose connections that burn off with time. I have cut off a million of those and replaced them why I never thought of this before I know not. I was actually looking at a bad wire nut connection on the service wire when I notice the hot spot on the overload.

This is the sort of post I would hope to see in the “Found with IR” thread I started.

Thanks for sharing!
