Equipment Question

I have a question, What is the best tool/meter to buy to get humidity/relative humidity, and just general weather conditions? This is for IR Thermal and Mold Investigations. Also how many times can you re-use the Hygro-I probes that are available for the Tramex moisture meters? Are they a good tool to have? I have the MRH III and love it.

I use a digital psychrometer

after numerous units back & forth tramex wouldn’t honor warranty/couldn’t repair/wouldn’t replace their crap hygrometer…never again
'08 went with 4200 http://kestrelmeters.com/
never needed to replace/repair or look elsewhere…ymmv
nist cert & calibration available

I use an Extec because it talks to my Flir camera.
If you don’t have a camera like that, it is still a good meter.

Has IR Thermometer, contact and non-contact moisture measurement, thermometer and hygrometer all in one.

It also calculates psychrometric readings for more than temperature and rh. (If you know what to do with these calc.).

Helps to know the dew point temperatures when your using IR to locate moisture.

I have the same one David. Best one I have found for under $1000.00. I like that it bluetooth’s to my camera. I can see all of my reading in one place.

Its’ not the best I know of, but it gets a lot more of the job done than most.

If you need and know how to use the data.
