I am relatively new to this business, 1 year, but I was inspecting a 60 year old home with an attached garage. The step height from the garage into the home was 10 inches. I know the riser height on steps is a max. of 7 3/4 inches, but I can find no reference or guideline for a single step for entry into a house. Is this a defect and what would be some recommendations?
