What does this mean? It is from your page. Not trying to pick on you, just would like to know.

Was just quickly describing what an AFCI does. Trying to add content that people might like and find interesting.

What is a “nonworking electrical arcs”? That is what I’m trying to find out.

Now I see where you got it from. In my opinion that is not a very good way for them to write that.

Here is what is stated in Wikipedia: An AFCI distinguishes between a harmless arc that occurs incidental to normal operation of switches, plugs and brushed motors and an undesirable arc that can occur, for example, in a lamp cord that has a broken conductor in the cord.
