HUD / 203K Consultant

Can someone enlighten me on the topic of HUD Inspections and being a 203K consultant for HUD.

  • What is the difference between these type inspections and a general buyers home inspection?
  • Is there a different reporting form for these inspections?
  • Are these type inspections ones that you price or is the pricing determined by HUD?

I know you have to be approved through HUD to qualify to perform these inspections but I do not know all the details of the process. I have mortgage contacts asking me to get qualified.

Can anyone help explain the above questions?

Been getting a lot of calls for those4 lately. Don’t know much about them, but you do need to be certified. From what I understand, the 203K inspection is not as thorough as a standard home inspection, but you are required to give cost estimates for your findings.

Oh boy with those questions.
