Have any inspectors seen living walls and what are your thoughts on issues with them long-term ? Seems like they would be an issue in my opinion.
If you are talking about a wall that is completely covered by plants then yes, my neighbor has one, I’ve inspected a couple and somebody inspected a house last year that had roots ALL over the house and posted photos here…
These are problematic for the wall as it won’t allow proper drying, the plants will “eat” up any surface they attach to.
roots and vines are also invasive and bugs follow them. I explain whats up and say keep them if you want to.
If it is NOT attached to the structure or to close then there is no problem.
Kind of like a tight hedge?
