How to Perform Deck and Fireplace Inspections Class in Boulder, CO on Nov 4, 2016

InterNACHI School is hosting a How to Perform Deck and Fireplace Inspections Class in Boulder, CO on November 4, 2016.

This course will cover the basics of deck design and construction, including the concept of continuous load path and the critical connections involved in deck construction. Related code requirements are referenced per the International Building Code® (IBC) and International Residential Code® (IRC). The course also reviews connector and fastener selection, load capacity, and corrosion issues. The course is intended to help inspectors and other industry professionals ensure decks are safe, strong and code compliant. The second two hours will discuss Simpson Strong-Tie’s product solutions. This class will include hands on demos of selected products.

In addition we will be offering a gas fireplace inspection class taught by Mr. Steve Quinlan. This class will review:

  • Gas log sets
  • Enclosed gas fireplaces
  • gas piping,
  • combustion air requirements
  • venting issues
