It’s very easy to save electricity costs for your home. The hardest part is retraining your thinking on how you use electricity in your home.
- You need to drop you thermostat when using your heat buy a few degrees at night and drop it as much as you want when no ones at home. I’ve read that 1 degree of temp drop could save you as much as 2% on your heating bill.
- Replace your light bulbs with LED bulbs. Yes LED bulbs cost much more that incandescent bulbs but they last much longer and use only a trickle of the power to light.
- Tank-less water heaters use less electricity because they don’t continually run to keep a water tank always hot. They heat water when hot water is demanded, or as a hot water valve is opened and they cut off as soon as the flow of hot water is stopped.
