Thom Seargeant, InsideOut Property Inspections

Hi to the Forum! I just got certified and am ready to launch my business soon!! I have 35 years experience in the building industry, 25 of which as a residential remodeling contractor. While I know houses really well (still learning a lot in the Internachi online courses), I don’t know how to establish my fees for inspection services. Can anyone give me some ideas or guidelines on how to charge for inspections? Is there a generally accepted formula? What is the going rate? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! I am in Crestline, Ca. and my market encompasses the local mountain region (Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear), the Inland Empire, and the eastern region of metropolitan L.A…just fyi.

Thomas, appears to be about $350 for a national average, and your area is above the national average for home prices. I would google local competition.

Congratulations and best of luck!
