What inspectors can still do before the end of the year to reduce their 2018 taxes.

  1. Delay inspection business income until 2019. Don’t ask any of your clients to pre-pay, pay on-site, or pay upon receipt of the inspection report by credit card or PayPal before the end of the year. Send them an invoice instead.

  2. Don’t cash or deposit any payments for inspections until after the first of the year. Hold onto those checks until 2019.

  3. Pay your InterNACHI membership dues now. Your professional association dues are 100% deductible. Regardless of when your InterNACHI dues are due, you can pay them before the end of the year and take the tax deduction in 2018. Then print your receipt here: InterNACHI® members can print out a receipt for professional dues paid. - InterNACHI

  4. Invest in your inspection business. Buy that moisture meter or pack of inspection brochures now. Visit Inspector Outlet

  5. Make a donation to Cozy Coats for Kids. Cozy Coats for Kids is a registered charity almost entirely supported by the inspection industry. If you make a donation, your inspection business contact information gets displayed permanently on their “Donors” page at Donors – Cozy Coats for Kids

Looks good. Will donate.
