Kansas & Missouri Home Inspector Licensing

Last week the Kansas Realtors introduced a Senate Bill (SB-168) to license home inspectors ALTHOUGH the previous Bill was rescinded by the Kansas Governor in 2013 (about 8 filed complaints in 8 yrs, only about 166 inspectors after 4 yrs, and NO board office, staff, etc … JUST an answering machine in an accountants office that collected messages weekly and sent them to the Home Inspector Board Chair in Wichita - Jeff Barnes).

Today mid-day we’re told the Missouri Realtors introduced a House Bill (HB-1066) to license home inspectors ALTHOUGH for 16 yrs the Realtors have kept introducing Bills and the Missouri legislature has continually determined it was NOT needed and NOT cost effective.

Neither state has state licensed tradesmen, plumbers, builders, electricians, etc AND neither state has MANDATORY codes in 3/4th of the counties.

BUT to protect the PUBLIC its vitally important to LICENSE inspectors.
