Pennsylvania accepts InterNACHI's radon toward state certification.

Please help me Nick!

I’m looking to get certified for radon in PA. For some reason, I’m getting the run-around from the state and I can’t get anyone to help me. Does anyone know the process of getting certified to test for radon in PA? On InterNACHI’s page for PA, it states ‘Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) has been required radon certification since 1988. Radon certification must be obtained before any person conducts radon testing, radon mitigation, or radon laboratory analysis in PA. To become PA-DEP Certified, you must complete an AARST/NRPP-approved radon course. For details, visit PA DEP’s website.
InterNACHI’s free, online “Advanced Radon Measurement Service Provider” course (free for members) is AARST/NRPP-approved for Entry Certification and CE’.

Does that mean the InterNACHI course will fulfill the requirements for certification? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes (the course requirement portion). You still have to apply for state certification. Form found from clicking the link at the bottom of this page: http://www.dep.state.pa.us/brp/radon_division/CERTIFICATION_CORNER.htm

I know this is a old thread but all the DEP links here are out dated and redirect to other pages. I completed the InterNachi radon certification course and passed the NRPP exam, anyone know what the next step is to get certified to do testing in Pennsylvania?

I wish NY accepted InterNACHI Radon and mold courses. I’m going to find out the requirements and forward them to Nick.
