Help identifying EIFS system

So I was at a new build (2 years old) and the exterior was totally EIFS with some brick. The curious thing was that where the EIFS overlapped the foundation I could slide 4-5" of my hand behind the styrofoam before meeting an obstruction which ran the length of the house. I’m fairly certain this was a drainage designed system but I don’t know which one.

Any ideas?

It looks like the guy omitted the flashing at the bottom though on the installation I was looking at.

Did you happen to take any pictures of the areas in question? It always helps, not only here on the forum, but in your report as well to have detailed photo of what you are describing.
