Builders in my area mortar up to the vinyl windows and exterior trim. Anyone else see this out in the field and shoud we advise our clients that a flexible sealant/caulk should be used between two dissimalar substrates.

if there are visible cracks at top of rock or mortar, I recommend sealing.
