I’m running a seperate circuit for my garage/workroom using 12-2 wiring and 20 amp outlets. This won’t hurt my 15 amp rated power saws, will it?
If it is a true 20A circuit…your 15 AMP saw will do fine…should not be a problem for you.
Yes, I have 4 open positions on my main board and will use one of them for this circuit.
Keep in mind open positions on your panel does not mean the power is their…That would take a calculation factor to know if you can really add these circuits…BUT…their is enough diversity in general that you should be fine…
Now you could list everything in your panel…and I could do the math for you but as stated…I think you will be fine…
Just wanted to point that out for other HI’s…just because their is openings does not always mean their is space…if you know what I mean…
