Gfci

I am trying to detrmine when exactly GFCI protection became code for bathrooms; My earliest edition of the NEC goes back to 1981; I have been informed GFCI for bathrooms goes back to the 70’s.:shock:

Not required until 1975. . .

I was installing GFI breakers for bath room outlets back in 1973.

See this link for a chart

Thank you for the quick response, especially the chart;

Remember…their is a difference between a GFI and GFCI classification guys…GFI ( 60-70 ma )protects equipment and the like…GFCI ( 4-6ma or 5ma nominal ) protects human life.
