Outlet box mounted on water heater

This is the first time I have ever seen an outlet box mounted directly to a water heater. Any thoughts on this?

I see no problem it is conduit, Gfci protected , It is for the power vent which is a electric motor attached , Only thing i would suggest a weather tight junction box

When the water heater gets changed it will need to be redone.

And no it does not need to be weather proof.

just curious. did that junction box/outlet supply power to the water heater as well, or is that elsewhere in the picture?

Thanks, Ken

I would wonder if the EMT was supported within 3’ of the box.

I agree with that one about support, If i was installing it i still would use a liquid tight box . ( just me)
