Raymond did state the code via a ESA blog but no one has produced the one we should be using on Home Inspection and even if they did I have already stated I protect clients only so the strictest code I can find is the way I present my reports whether that be CANADA, ONTARIO or US.
Obviously from the posts I here on the InterNachi site many do not!
You don't have a copy, but you know it has changed? What is wrong with the posting of the Articles from the codebook? Do you think the ESA has a secret book?

Kevin, the many comments in this thread from several very knowledgeable people have nothing to do with, as you stated, forcing opinions on or displaying a lack of respect for Canadians. There are many people here who are simply trying to point out the errors in your statements but you refuse to admit that you're wrong.

Jeffrey Pope is one of the most knowledgeable inspectors on this board and has helped many that have had electrical questions. However, you continually speak down to him and others as though you believe you are superior.

Stop trying to twist this thread into an attack on Canadians in an attempt to divert the focus off of you. You don't speak for me and I find your comments to be an embarrassment to this profession.

I needed a chuckle to start my day, so I decided to go over to Kevvy's other association forum and see what's up...

I believe the link in this post of his explains everything very well...

I always point out the DANGER does anyone else do this?

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r2118596...-in-closet

Since I did not get a response I thaught I better put this in as it caused allot of confusion on another MB.
If anyone has the complete wording as per 26-702 can you post it?

CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE
Closets, Cupboards, Cabinets ect.

26-710 (i) prohibits plugs outlets in these enclosures exept for special cavities built for specific heating and non heating type appliances.

Like I said I don't like to mention CODE but safety only.

I am only doing this for XXXX because he has pointed out he does not have the CEC with him.
Note: His comment about no response (above) is in regards to NO-ONE having posted a reply to his posting on his own MB.

Come on now guys I know that you all can understand the dangers of a receptacle in a closet.

I installed a receptacle in a coat closet that was 48 by 24 inches. The lady of the house called me as she was having problems with this receptacle and needed it fixed. When I arrived at her home I found plug strips daisy chained with the following appliances plugged in; coffee pot, toaster, deep fryer, micro wave, and an iron.

After explaining to her the dangers of having an iron plugged in she relented and replaced the iron with a portable electric heater. Now everything is alright.

Boy talking about a big scare, I was sure that that iron was going to be the end of life as we know it. She understands that no cord can pass through the door as this might not let the door close and this would be really bad should the kids come home from school and start poking coat hangers into that plug.

Even though this was an American installation I referred her to the CEC and the dangers of having an iron plugged into a receptacle in a clothes closet. She was very adamant about this being a coat closet but she finally relented to the dangers. She ask if she installed some sort of fire suppression system could she keep the appliances plugged into that receptacle. I don’t think that the CEC will even allow this so I now ask the question should she have a barrel of water and a bucket in that closet will it still pose a danger.

On a side note, I would have posted this in one of those links outlined above but in order to do this I must join and this ain’t going to happen.

I saw only one Juan. Do you see another?

As far as I'm concerned, the train wreck is over. Time to pick up the pieces and move on

With all the nonsense in this thread (mine included) there are still a few things that can be learned from it. Everything from about page 3 on is for "entertainment purposes only."

Came across this thread from many years ago and couldn't stop laughing. For the newbies that haven't seen this, consider it a lesson in humility and learning to admit you were wrong.....
