I just added this “Zinsco Electrical Panels(history and Inspection recommendations)” article to the Electrical Reference section of my website. It’s from Wikipedia, but I cleaned it up a bit and shortened it (Still quite a bit of info).
Anyway, I found that reading it gave me what I think is a pretty good understanding of these widespread and often dubious panels, and some insight into why they fail, what names they went under, etc.
