Old Fedders Furnace

Inspected an old two stage Fedders Furnace today. I did some googling and it appears they stopped making them approximately around 1980. Anyone know this to be true? There was no data plate on this one. I could not find the serial number. It worked as it was supposed to but due to it’s age I suspect the heat exchanger is likely past it prime. You can see debris collecting under the ribbon, likely rust chips from higher up in the heat exchanger. Many times cracks in heat exchangers are not visible anyway.

My Preston Guide shows furnaces being mfg under the Fedders name till 2005.

Don’t know about after that.

Quit your “Suspecting” and report the facts that your capable of providing.

I’ll buy the damn thing. This new stuff is as efficient as Obama.
