What about foil covered flex duct? Is it “combustible”? See the furnace flue sitting right on it? This is front today’s inspection.

I think there is something else going on in your picture. I would guess that the vent is not properly seated. It shouldn’t get that hot.

The foil and glass are not considered combustible, but the inner plastic duct is. So technically, the duct is considered a combustible component. There should be at least one inch of clearance to the vent.
