Help on York ac age

Can anyone tell me the age of this York unit please

Serial # DM030143

Thanks

Is it possible that you could have missed a letter? My information says that the age is determined by the third letter of the serial number.

YORK (Unitary Products since 1984)York purchased Fraser, Johnston and Luxaire in 1980.
Year of make indicated by 3rd letter in the serial number. Note: they skip the letters I, O, Q, U, Z.

1972 - B 1976 - F 1980 - K 1984 – P 1988 - V 1992 - A 1996 - E 2000 - J 2004 - N

Hello Brian,

No I did not miss one. I have the same info as you but I checked the number on the unit a few times and that is all that was on there.

Sorry, I just looked everywhere I can think of and it looks like it might take a phone call… Hope you don’t need the report tonight.

There are three different types of serial numbers for York. If there are only two letters at the start, the first or second letter could be the year (that’s really helpful!). So D would be 1974 or 1995, and M would be 1982 or 2003.

Pick one, any one. You could be right! Hint: Look for the ANSI date, and you’ll know for sure which one to choose.

Thanks Russ. Going by the look of the unit 1974 would be right. The home was buit in 1975

Or go by the look of the unit or the construction date of the house. Those also sometimes work.
