What would cause dark stains on a roof from a water heater direct vent flue?
Al, That vent doesn’t look right, that black flex hose may have been recalled, using red silicone to make the seal at the PVC concerns me. I would look at the manufacturers approved vent configurations, that one doesn’t pass my spidy sense test.
That is not a direct vent water heater, or a flue. It is however, completely fubar. I agree with Mark on the defects.
