High Loop on Side of New Dishwasher

I just installed a new dishwasher and it wrapped the discharge tube high on the left side of the machine. Does this mean new ones don’t need a high loop in the cabinet? Is there a year this was required for new dishwashers?

Still needs high loop

Read the manufacturer’s information…
No ! Not always do you need the high loop as you call it.
However, a high drain will alway work.

No wonder he failed as a contractor.

Is that less than a failed Union Laborer ?

That’s a retired Union Laborer with retirement pay than is more than a failing, inept home inspector:

I do not think you inept so much as psycho but try not to beat on yourself too hard as you might sprain something…

I’m confused.

Out here high loops have never been required per sé, only when there’s no vent cap. In 11,800+ inspections since October 2001, I can count on one hand the number of high loops I have seen.

Eat me you F**King prick!
I hope you die in a horrible accident today … And suffer till you die. Really!

Don’t f**k with me anymore…Get it?

Did I say something wrong??
I wasn’t even referring to you. You must have some sort of guilt complex.
Get professional help Robert or Roy.

Yes you were . You have used that line at me many times…

Sorry, but you have me mistaken for someone else.

I’m done with you…again!
I still hope you die in a horrible accident today … And suffer till you die.

I say that about weep holes/screeds in masonry siding, kick-out flashings, distribution panels properly wired, properly grounded 3-prong outlets in an older house,
etc. etc. etc. as well.

It is what it is.

Sorry to have started an unpleasant discussion but, if we can stick to the facts, it seems to me that if the discharge tube is looped on the dishwasher itself and then attached directly to the disposer, then the disposer cannot back-flow into the dishwasher. If you have responses please state your rationale for them, otherwise they’re not much help. There is no way to check the side of each dishwasher so I was wondering if we need a new rule for the new ones. Thanks, Paul

From Maytag…

I only say it about dirt legs on gas lines and high loops. All the other stuff you mentioned are things that we do regularly here in San Diego, but gas lines and high loops are very rare. We prefer standard air gaps instead of high loops.

Did you read the link I provided?

If you feel that way Robert, I think I’ll stay in bed today.
Do you think it will be safe for me get get up and about tomorrow?
