water heater age

GE smartwater Water Heater Model PE50M9A. Nearest serial number I could come up with due to location was 409132. Any guess on the age?

Thanks Steve

I believe GE uses a mo-mo-yr-yr system for the first four digits of their water heater serial numbers. This doesn’t jive with the number you have. This may not be the entire serial number.

Hmmmm,

General Electric

Note that the first two digits are always somewhere between 01 and 12, seeming to indicate a month-month-year-year convention.
