I decided to review laminated strip shingles. The nailing locations for outside nails should be situated 1 inch from either side of the shingle and the rest will be equally spaced, the same is true for both a 4 or 6 nailing pattern. All nails are situated within the appropriate nailing line. This type of shingle does not require manual sealing, as a sealing strip is included on the shingle face. It is important to note that the required amount of nails per shingle on a specific slope should always follow the manufacturer installation instructions of said roofing product. It is important to always be aware of the specific installation requirements of any material being inspected.
