I do not mean to veare from the answers Paul. Please excuse my thinking process.
1. Thermal imaging cameras were developed during which war?
Raytheon first demonstrated the technology to the military in 1979. In the late 1980s, the federal government awarded hIgh-density array development or HIDAD contracts to both Raytheon and Honeywell for the development of thermal imaging technology for practical military applications.

2. Which thermal color palate best is most commonly used by home inspectors?
Hard to disseminate. Depends upon the thermal camera.
Rainbow/Ironbow.

3. Which color pallet best shows thermal sensitivity?
Thermal sensitivity is measured by mK. Not pallette. Grayscale or inverted grayscale.

4. When using a camera during a rainstorm you should.
I do not mean to veare from the answers Paul.
Place a protective cover over the lens. Either a Lens hood or clear plastic bag around the lens with a rubber band 'adjust' emissivity to counter reflectance.

Well! They may have degrees, but that is not an indicator of common sense or right thinking...M. Larson circa 9-27-2018.
