You guys all realize that the auction doesn’t end for 6 days, right? Bidding the price up this early in larger amounts will only cause the end price to be higher. One only need look at all the other CMI auctions that have been held to see early bidding adds almost $1000 to the end price.

Furthermore, putting the value of CMI aside for a moment, if the $1,000 bid wins on Tuesday night… how much would the winning bidder actually be paying for a professional designation that, as I’ve shown from several angles, will increase his gross revenue by a million dollars?

Let’s do the math to figure it out:

  • Let’s say the winning bidder on Tuesday pays $1,000 for the entire package.
  • Subtract from that the value of the shirts, hats, patches, decals, books, and shipping that come with the package and the winning bidder is only paying about $950 for his/her CMI.
  • Subtract from that the value of the 500 CMI rack cards and the winning bidder is only paying $800 for his/her CMI.
  • Subtract from that the value of the Fenix Flashlight and the winning bidder is only paying $705 for his/her CMI.
  • Subtract from that the value of the case of “Now That You’ve Had a Home Inspection” books and the winning bidder is only paying $582 for his/her CMI.
  • Subtract from that the value of the free year of InterNACHI membership and the winning bidder is only paying $83 for his/her CMI.
  • Subtract from that the value of the 3 microwave oven detectors and the winning bidder is only paying $73 for his/her CMI.
  • Subtract from that the value of the CMI water bottle and the winning bidder is only paying $66 for his/her CMI.
  • Subtract from that the value of the FLIR ONE infrared camera and the winning bidder isn’t paying anything for his/her CMI. The winning bidder is being paid $204 to get his/her CMI for free.

Basically, any bid equal or less than $1,204 results in the winning bidder getting CMI for free.
