Here’s an “executive overview” of what the exclusive InterNACHI Québec program looks like:

NEW EXCLUSIVE INTERNACHI QUÉBEC PLAN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Overview: This exclusive plan is a result of over one year of discussions, meetings, research etc. with experts, insurance underwriters, inspectors, attorneys…. It evolves around the basic premise that most claims made are meritless and that there seemed to be a lot to be done in that area. Owing to the high claims ratio, obtaining E&O Insurance in Canada - and particularly in Québec - has become not only very expensive but more particular to Québec, next to impossible! As such an elaborate and effective “preventive investigation and education” plan has been designed. This E&O program was officially introduced on September 8 2014. It will soon be available exclusively to all InterNACHI members in Canada.

Highlights:
Full E&O, 2 plans

1. $500K per claim - $500K max = $2,000 premium. ADD general liability (GL) below $300. Deductibles: $2500 E&O; $1,000 GL.
2. $1Million per claim - $1Million max = $2,250 premium. ADD GL $350.
   General liability (GL): (claims made through operations), non-owned vehicle, rentals, above limits defense costs.

NOTE: The above premiums are for a minimum of 30 participants and we NOW have 61 members AND around 30 wanting to join! The higher the number of participants, the LOWER the premium!! ADD to that the rest of Canada’s InterNACHI members and we do get interesting and affordable premiums!

Doug, the initial introduction was in Québec, I’ve checked with the broker and it is a question of a little time before this program can be applied to the rest of the country.

How do the premiums in other provinces compare to these “affordable” rates in Quebec? Would an HI in Ontario pay much more?
