Toronto police said that two men from Taylor Made Construction of Richmond Hill, Ont. approached a 92-year-old Etobicoke woman and continually solicited repairs to her home.
On a daily basis the men would make the woman worry about major repairs needed to her home to ensure its safety and would request money from the woman to buy materials and pay for permits, police say.
Police said the woman was ultimately defrauded of $138,000.
Toronto police responded to a call for a fraud investigation in the Burnhamthorpe Road and Shaver Avenue North area in mid-April.
On Thursday, police charged Anthony Taylor, 41 and Scott Eisemann, 42, both of Richmond Hill, with fraud.
The two men are scheduled to appear in Toronto court on Nov. 19.
