Ontario Electrical Code Question

I’m hoping some one with a full copy of the code can answer this question. Is there a regulation as to how much sheathing can protrude into the panel? If there is, the wording would be appreciated.

I don’t think there is…I looked and can’t find anything.

While there are several rules that provide direction with respect to Romex wiring entering enclosures, there doesn’t seem to be any that stops you from putting as much sheathed wire into the panel as you like. You can’t strip the sheathing before it enters the panel.

Thanks guys. I guess it’s unusual but not a violation.

It’s more usual to see not enough sheathing (stripped prior to the panel), and no bushing on the panel, both of which are not only code violations but safety concerns, the latter of which are more in line with our SoP.
