New CCPIA Article: Scope of ADA Title III for Accessibility Inspections

This article reviews the scope of the Americans with Disabilities Act Title III, the scope and technical requirements outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG), and its exemptions and enforcement.

Understanding these regulations will help an inspector better perform a Standard Accessibility Inspection for existing buildings. Additionally, an inspector with a home office may be required to meet the ADAAG requirements or although outside of the ComSOP, during the research portion of a commercial inspection an inspector may wish to ask about a subject properties remodeling history.
