Gas supply at fireplace/damper clamp?

Hello,

Regarding gas log lighter/supply at fireplace. We are looking for clarification if it would be recommended that we install a damper clamp to prevent from closing fully. There is a only a gas log lighter installed in this fireplace. Please advise, Thank you.

Cost is less than $5 / Why waste your time posting. Just do it.

The damper does not need to remain open when a log lighter is installed. No device is needed.

NO.

There is no reason to install a damper clamp for a gas log lighter. They are only required when the fireplace has been converted to a gas ceramic log set.
