Questionnaire from UNC student

I am currently a junior at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Business Administration and had a couple of questions for a research project on the IAQ industry.

What is the role of an inspector? Do they diagnose an IAQ problem and then the contractor comes in? Just expand on this please.

Where is the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic region in the ranking of promising new sales? (Assuming Southeast is the highest rank)

Why would a contractor focus on a certain sector (residential vs. commercial, etc.) as opposed to diversifying? Personal preference? Which is more beneficial financially?

To whom is contractor certification most meaningful? Manufacturers? Wholesalers? Consumers?

How are IAQ industry associations interconnected? Are they just promoting IAQ in general? Are there underlying relationships in place?
