What we do in addition, when possible is to loosen the canopy or look on the attic side (if its on a top floor) to be sure the fan is actually mounted on an approved ceiling fan heavy mount box and not just some nail on light box. HUGE safety issue if it is not mounted properly.
It doesn’t really matter too much if all those other things are right or wrong if the Dang fan is going to fall on your head…?
Just sayin… At least in my company that’s what we do.
