What about repair? If the unit fails or breaks in a way not due to abuse. Does you program provide a replacement. Once you start using this technology, your clients expect it.

Kevin,

I believe they are just financing your lease and other costs. For repair that would be covered under your lease agreement with the provider/manufacturer of the camera.

I was asked to attend the Fllir regional Infrared Conferences held by Flir specifically to address questions regarding the use of IR cameras for Home Inspectors. They had Steve Ramos ( Steve Ramos is HG TV's House Detective, a Certified Home Inspector, and the Owner of Envirovue Home Inspection. Steve is also a Certified Building Science Thermography with an Infrared Specialty in Home Inspection ) there giving a presentation on how to integrate Thermography into your business. He will be doing more seminars with Flir into next year.
My role was to show how to make the cameras affordable and profitable . By spreading the cost of the camera over a longer period, the camera can be used once or twice in a month and be paid for. This frees up cash that would be used to purchase the camera for other uses like advertising or other uses.

That is correct repair of the camera is covered by warranty or insurance or out of pocket.

What about lease buyouts?

For example, say I enter into a three year lease agereement--two years into the lease a great new camera comes out and I want upgrade and dump the old model. Would it be possible to do this? I'm sure it would probably be included in the language of ones lease.

i have a technology upgrade program for my leases. You could work out an upgrade and i would reset the lease with the difference ,allowing you to keep up with technology

Hello All-

I have personally met John and spoke with him regarding topics of financial interest at the seminars. I do not have any financial ties to John nor do I have any arrangements with him for referral business. I have not yet had to lease a camera but if I did - John would be the first guy I call.

I encourage everyone to shop around but make sure you include John in the mix because he is ethical, has a ton of experience, and has unique financial resources to get deals done!

I'm looking at the Flir Bcam-SD vs the Fluke TiR ot Ti10 (within $100 of each other). Never seen then head to head. Has anybody else??

I like Flukes picture in a picture. I like Flir's temp alarm and longer battery life.

Any thoughts.

I just wanted to let the members know that I have a program that allows me to set up the lease purchase so the first 6 months of the lease is $99 to allow for the time for training and establishing the Infrared camera portion of your business. For NACHI members i have set this up so this payment can be as low as $49 per month and only $20.00 initial fee for qualified applications.

Interest rates are based on a number of factors , time in business ,credit, and the size of the lease. The lease rates vary based on the type of program , residual chosen , another factor that is in play is the changes the federal government is doing currently with the rates.
One very good thing is the rate is fixed over the term of the lease , so if inflation or interest rates go up, your payment will not change, you lock in the payments ,this facilitates financial planning with a stable payment structure.
This is not a specific rate answer but i would be happy to discuss it on an individual purchase. In most cases the rate is very competitive with current loan rates and with a lease your bank lines are not burdened. This gives you leverage - leaving your normal lines of bank credit undisturbed. Avoid restricting your ability to respond to opportunities and emergencies. Credit card debt for this kind of purchase just reduces your ability to borrow in the future and can put you in the position of not being able to respond to immediate needs.

You may want to keep in mind if your money and borrowing power is not tied up in equipment costs, you're free to spend it on other items such as inventory, advertising, personnel and growth for your business.

I have a calculator to review the true cost of ownership http://firstpacificfunding.com/savingscalculator.php

Long answer to a short question.
