BPI Certification through Energy Upgrade CA: training in San Diego August 1st

One of my clients, the Conservation Services Group (CSG), is offering Statewide Contractor Training for BPI Building Analyst certification this fall. There are still a few seats available for the training sessions in San Diego beginning August 1st.

Building Performance Institute Building Analyst certification is the first step that contractors must take to be eligible for participation in Energy Upgrade CA customer incentive programs.

The classes usually cost $1600.00 and are currently offered in Sean Diego for a $500 exam fee. Through this program, the exam fees, training and materials are all covered for a $65 per seat fee.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get your BPI Building Analyst certification for only $65 instead of the normal fees, and I believe that this also qualifies toward NACHI’s continuing education requirements.

The training requires 5 full days plus 2 hours field exam. Priority will be given to home inspectors and experienced contractors who serve Energy Upgrade California customers. For more information on Energy Upgrade California, see www.energyupgradeca.org

The program will also offer HERS II and BPI Building Analyst training and exams in 30 counties for 1250 trainees when it officially launches at the end of August - more information on that to follow.

The schedule for the San Diego sessions will be August 1-4 class and field training, August 5 optional intensive field practice (cost is $1000 for 2-4 people), August 8 written exam, August 9th duct blast and EnergyPro training, with field exams to be scheduled (2 hours, on one of the days between the 10th and 12th). Classes run from 8:30am to 5pm and the first one will be held at a location on Convoy Street in San Diego. The August 8th class is the same: four days class and field training, one day off/optional; written exam the following Monday, and field exams scheduled for 2 hours between August 17th and 19th.
