How to Access Roof and Building Permits.

Hello everyone,

First I’d like to say thanks in advance for the help.

My question is, for home built in Miami-Dade and Broward counties how can I pull the;

  • Building Permit
  • Roof Permit

to most accurately fill out section 1 **and **section 2 of the 1802 form for homes without asking the homeowner for verification documentation?

John,
Most local municipalities have websites where you can access the permit information. Unfortunately, not all of them require the FBC number of the shingles installed so I ask to see any paperwork that the homeowner has. If it’s not on there you are going to have to call the roofer.

If the municipality doesn’t have a website you are going to have to make the trip to the buildings department.
