Default Astm e-1886 astm e-1996

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if ASTM E 1886 and ASTM E 1996 products for window and door openings are approved for use in High Velocity Hurricanes Zones (HVHZ); Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Please provide any reference sources with your answer. Thank you all for your help.

Although the 1802 does not specifically list approved standards just for the HVHZ, only Maimi-Dade Co Approved products can be used inside the HVHZ. These do not include products with only ASTM E 1886 and ASTM E 1996 testing.

OPTION 3: Approved impact-resistant windows and doors (must be certified to meet either Miami-Dade TAS 201, 202 and 203 or
SSTD12 or ASTM E1886 and E1996 impact tests) may be used except in HVHZ where only products tested to Miami-Dade protocols
are permitted.
