Last Chance Mold Cert Classes

Well call me a procrastinator but I got on line this week to get into one of the last chance grandfathered mold assessor/remediator classes and low an behold they were all filled up. So I started to call around and found that Gold Coast School in Ft Lauderdale was booking another class because of calls they were getting. They are having another 60 hour class on Feb 14 thru the 19th in Miami in the Doral area. For more information please call: Rob at Gold Coast Schools at 954-315-8207 for more information.

This will be your last chance to get grandfathered in on the mold assessor/remediator license. From my personal research this is the only class being given in the state that has room left in it. Please tell Rob that you heard it from Fred Sylvester on the NACHI Florida Inspectors Message Board.

Don’t you still need a proctored exam and belong to an org?

Yes you still need to take and pass a proctored MOLD Exam like that given by Florida NACHI. Zoe offers this test for $65 to Fl Nachi Members and $100 to non members. The mold proctored exam is given the same dates and locations as the Home Inspection Proctored Exam. These date can be found by going to http://fl.nachi.org/info/info768.html
and clicking the “Chapter Events” tab on the left hand side. Although it appears that the Mold Exam is only offered on February 19th in Tampa, I believe that it is offered on all dates shown - But please verify with Zoe
Zoe Fackler at 813-677-9287 or Van Hibberts at 850-934-6800

The posted dates of exams are:
Feb 8 th — Ft Myers
Feb 9 th ---- Pensacola
Feb 15 th ----- Orlando
Feb 19 th ----- Tampa (Mold)
Feb 26 th ----- No location announced

The best and only preparation that is needed to pass the Mold Proctored Exam is to take the NACHI Mold course How to Perform Mold Inspections Course - InterNACHI®

Good Luck

Good thing its proctored!

oooooh its proctored all right ---- X Three

Anyone taking the mold proctored exam thru Zoe - Make sure you take your IAC2 Membership Number — Zoe needs it for your Certificate
I GUESS IT IS A REQUIREMENT - BUT I’M NOT 100% SURE
The Certificate reads
“Is Hereby A Memeber In Good Standing Of The Florida InterNational Association of Certified Indoor Air Consultants”

Just spoke to her. The IAC2 is not strictly a requirement. If you wish you can take the test without the membership in IAC2.

Classes are important
Insurance may be the most difficult part of the license requirements. I am told there are about ten US companies that provide mold E&O for qualified individuals.
If the agents don’t know if the insurance policy (Lloyds) covers post remediation activities how can the inspector claim to have obtained the proper insurance.

Hi Doug,
We have forwarded your email to the underwriters for the Lloyd’s program and asked them to verify coverage for post remediation assessments. We will update you as soon as we receive a response.
Thanks,
