Mold Sampling

The Florida Standards of Practice for mold sampling states:
"Sampling must be performed following the recommendations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published March 16, 2010 and found online at http://www.osha.gov/."

[FONT=&quot]I have searched the OSHA site and have not been able to find the publication mentioned.

I contacted OSHA directly and requested the publication but they said that they can not find any such publication and sent back a list of other links elated to mold but not the mentioned publication.

Has anyone ever found the publication mentioned in the Standards of Practice?

How do you comply with a standard that can not be located?

Ain’t licensing great

As far as I know, there is no standard except what is in IICRC S520. FL just shot down their MRS SOP, so I would stick with the S520 guidelines.

Makes you wonder why someone would put something like that in there if it is not readily available???

Mike, I might get in trouble, but I agree with you.

Letter to FL DBPR – why the standards haven’t been accepted yet

61-31.701(4)(a): This paragraph requires sampling to be “performed following the recommendations of the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) published March 16, 2010 and found
online at http://www.osha.gov/.”
Any regulation that the licensee is required to comply with must be incorporated by reference in the rule text. Also, the department must follow the rulemaking provisions of rule 1-1.013, Florida Administrative Code, and
paragraph 120.54(1)(i), Florida Statutes.

all from state lawyers to dbpr : http://www.japc.state.fl.us/results_detail.cfm?cn=R154925&ruleNo=61-31.701

The NEW proposed rules look fine to me.

Has anyone found where these are posted on OSHA web page yet?
“ Mold Assessment Evaluation Sampling must be performed following the recommendations of
the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published March 16, 2010 and found online at http://www.osha.gov/.”

I believe s520 was withdrawn…since osha guidelines are identical to the epa’s try this

S520 is in limbo right now for sure, but I don’t think I would want to go to court saying we followed something other than what is in standard of practice if it is accepted by Florida.
maybe this will be sorted out Sept 5
Everyone have a safe holiday.
